Offset Printing: If you need quality and quantity both, Offset Printing is the answer !!
There are many methods and processes for printing. Offset Printing, Letterpress, digital printing, online printing, gravure, screen printing, engraving, thermography, foil stamping, desktop printing, inkjet printing etc. Out of them, Offset printing is one of the most popular and widely used methods. It’s a modern method of printing, and is used mostly for large volumes of prints. This method is the most cost effective when the number of prints is very large. These are amazing for long term printings, like for newspapers, magazines, flyer printing etc. Also known by the name ‘lithography’, it gives quality printing as well. For this, the right machines should be purchased. Though these machines come very costly, bit it is a one time investment, and the returns are amazing ones the prints start coming out. With impeccable quality, these machines can give large volumes of prints with cost reducing as the number of prints increases. This method of printing is not very apt for short term printing or for printing of small volumes of data, because the per unit cost is very high for such printings. As such, these should be used only for larger amounts of prints. The machines also have many alternatives and variations in terms of the plates being used in printing. Some machines have paper printing plates. These reduce the cost of printing, but they give fizzy prints, as such the quality goes down. For a high quality print, aluminium plates are better. These increase the costs manifolds, but the quality is nonetheless better than the paper plates. But an investment in better quality prints can bring out much better returns, thus giving out a net profit in the whole exercise. With time, there have been considerable advancements in these machines, and better quality can be achieved and within a shorter time span. There is cut throat competition in the market, and there is rising demand for quality as well as quantity. As such, there is a fight for getting the best quality at the best prices. With offset printing, both quality and quantity can be achieved, and that too at minimum prices. This is used for both commercial as well as personal purposes; however, it is more efficient for commercial purposes seeing to the cost conditions which are more suitable for large volumes of printing which is involved in commercial printing only. Digital printing is also used for the same purpose, which gives similar results with good quality. These have a benefit over the previously mentioned method, as it can also be used for small volumes of prints, since per unit cost is very less as compared to the other ones. Summary: Offset printing is one of the various methods of printing, like Letterpress, digital printing, online printing, gravure, screen printing, engraving, thermography, foil stamping, desktop printing, inkjet printing etc. It is more popular for large volumes of printing, since it gives out more cost effective solutions at larger number of prints. For quality and quantity, offset printing is preferred to the other methods.
